Little Fires Everywhere is an American drama web television miniseries, based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Celeste Ng. The series stars Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, who also executive produce.

The show is set in Ohio during the late 1990s and features Witherspoon and Washington as mothers from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
It follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, the ferocious pull of motherhood – and the danger in believing that following the rules can avert disaster.

This is Kerry Washington’s first big project on-screen after Scandal and damn, she doesn’t disappoint. She gives a beautiful performance portraying Mia Warren, a single black mother who lives her life running from her past that casts a huge shadow over her life from all the secrets she keeps. This is coupled with Witherspoon’s exemplary portrayal of Elena Richardson, another mother whose life is picture perfect and she works hard to keep it that way. Covering up all the cracks to hold up the façade that is her life.

If you love dramas, this is definitely one to watch in 2020 if not only for the genius that is Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon but also for those who are a little pickier like me, the writing is impeccable. The show explores matters race, love, identity, parenting and economic stability all woven together in beautiful storytelling.
It premiered in March 2020 and consists of eight episodes.
